Experience & Knowledge

After graduating from Rutgers Law School in Camden, Aaron served as a judicial law clerk in the Superior Court of New Jersey for the Honorable E. Stevenson Fluharty, J.S.C., and the Honorable Samuel L. Supnick, J.S.C.

Aaron opened his own practice in 2000, handling a broad range of legal matters and regularly making court appearances for other attorneys. Those relationships brought workers’ compensation referrals and eventually introduced him to FECA. As referrals grew, he chose to concentrate his practice on representing injured federal employees. In 2010, he and Jason S. Lomax formed Aumiller Lomax.

Aaron has lectured on federal workers’ compensation and provided expert opinions and testimony in litigation involving the interaction between personal injury claims and FECA benefits. Referrals from other attorneys remain an important part of his practice.

Work Focused on Federal Employees

Aaron combines persistence with a practical assessment of what can be accomplished. When he believes further review offers a reasonable prospect of success, he is prepared to keep pursuing a claim through a lengthy appeals process. He also gives candid advice about obstacles, the evidence needed, and what another appeal may realistically achieve.

His approach is direct: identify the facts and legal issues that can make a difference, and keep attention on those issues. He helps clients understand why some concerns may not affect OWCP’s decision and which steps could advance their claim. He is particularly concerned when confusing or inaccurate information discourages employees from pursuing benefits.

Outside the Office

Aaron lives in South Jersey with his wife, four children, and their pets. He has been extensively involved in youth soccer, including service as president and a board member of the Voorhees Soccer Association, along with coaching, refereeing, and directing tournaments. He also served as general secretary of the South Jersey Girls Soccer League.

Aaron enjoys science fiction and fantasy, particularly authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Roger Zelazny, and Isaac Asimov. He is a Philadelphia sports fan whose other interests include 1980s music, Dungeons & Dragons, fantasy football, and competitive cornhole.
